We provide free reliable screenings for seniors at senior community centers.

Seniors, have you gotten your hearing screened? Since 2005, our audiologists and licensed Audiometrists at HEAR Center regularly visit senior centers and facilities in Pasadena and surrounding cities to provide hearing screenings, hearing aid cleanings, and encourage hearing health.

The Screening Process

  • Hearing Screenings are PASS/FAIL and help to identify those at risk for a hearing impairment, disorder or disability, and who may benefit from further audiological testing.
  • During a screening, the individual wears over-the-ear headphones while the tester presents different frequencies (tones) at a predetermined volume using an audiometer. When a tone is heard, the individual simply raises their hand.
  • In 5-10 minutes, seniors will receive the results from their completed hearing screening.
  • If you fail a screening, you are welcome to come to HEAR Center for a free comprehensive audiological evaluation. Please call (626) 734-6555 to schedule your free follow-up appointment.
